Mindfulness courses can be helpful in dealing more effectively with the stress of everyday life. They are can also be supportive for people with low mood and anxiety.

The courses are taught in small friendly groups that meet for two and a quarter hours each week. They are based on two well-researched mindfulness courses, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. Each week, people are introduced to new practices and themes. There is also a chance to explore how the practices can become part of everyday life.

Our courses are taught by Jake Dartington, who has been practising meditation since 1995. He trained at Gaia House and Bangor university’s Centre for Mindfulness Practice and Research.

Jake first trained as a meditation teacher with Christina Feldman, the co-founder of Gaia House, and has been teaching retreats and courses throughout the country since 2007. He has taught eight-week mindfulness courses in Nottingham since 2012.

Jake undertook further training as  mindfulness teacher with Bangor university (TTR levels , TTR level 2, Foundation, Teaching 1, Teaching 2). He has regular supervision for his mindfulness teaching and is registered as  teacher of MBSR and MBCT with the UK Mindfulness Teachers’ Network.


He currently teaches in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands with a range of organisations including Gaia House, London Insight, Brussels Mindfulness, Bahia Yoga, Nottinghamshire NHS Trust, Mindfulness Network and Bodhi College. Jake is also a mentor on the training programme run from the USA by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.
